When I got back into muzzleloading my friend and neighbor used 150 grains of Pyrodex and so I did too. 150 grains of Pyrodex were accurate in my guns.Found out that such heavy charges are not necessary and cut it back to 100 grains.
The key to using JSGis atight fitting sabot and a well tamped powder charge: This cuts the sd down to less than 40. If you do not feel the JSG compress you ain't doing it right.
