If you' re gonna start with a pup you could do the drag line thing. If you have a real aggresive pup and could get your hands on a live coon you run your drag line make a pulley system and suspend the coon off the ground(in a cage of course) and once you get the pup pointed in the right direction lower the cage and let the pup get up close and personal with the coon. It might not be a good idea if the pup is timid. If he' s aggresive he' ll eat it up. This works pretty well, but my advice would be to get a good started older dog to run and let the pup work and learn with him. Nothing like having a teacher.
