Default RE: Would your standards change?

It really depends on what part of the season you are talking about (hunting). During the first couple weeks (archery) I would set my standards pretty high, especially if I knew there was a P&Y (higher than 130") running around.

Towards the opening of muzzleload season I would hunt more for the meat, but still watch out for the rut action. When firearm (Dog) season comes I would shoot anything older than a year, because it is just a matter of time before he/she ends up in someone elses truck.

My land is covered on 3 sides by hunt club land. What I see one day, its days are numbered. The club on one side of me killed 97 deer (buck and doe) last year on 600 acres with dogs. I know for a fact that two buttons I let walk last year were taken 2 weks after watching them under my stand for 30 minutes.

QDM is bullcrap when shotgun/dog season comes in! My chance is during archery or muzzleloader only...other than the deer their dogs run onto my property during shotgun season.
