Go and have fun. Test your equipment, get some pork, and hone up your skills. I have done the fenced pig hunt thing, and will do it again some time. It's not as difficult as chasing wild whitetails, but with archery gear it's still not a peice of cake. I more or less consider it a pig shoot, but it's still a lot of fun.
