I'm from Ill. and have just started focusing on rub lines. In 2005 I harvested a 4 1/2 yr. old 140" 8 pt. off of his rub line. I did this using a trail camera also. I found his rub line at a cut cornfield and followed it about 200 yrds. back into blowed over timber. I did this in the middle of the day. I hung the camera and caught this buck using this rub line trail about 20 min before dark two of the three days that I had the camera in place. I then set up on this buck and killed him the first evening hunting the stand. I shot him 60 yrds from his bed. I really start paying attention to rubs here right in the middle of the "Oct. lull" here in Illinois. The few days before Halloween are magical for hunting rub lines here.
