RE: need help with hunting arrows
I use the Easton A/C/C's and I love them. They are aluminum and graphite, which gives them an added safety factor against shattering as some graphite arrows sometimes do. A shattered arrow through the hand or wrist is a tough thing to deal with.
Anyway, they are super straight, and they are durable. I have shot Gold tips, and carbon express in all graphite arrows and can attest to their strength and straightness. They are great, but I wanted the added saftey factor, so I bought 4 doz. a/c/c's. I put Blazer vanes on the on a 2-3 degree offset, and they are the Bomb.
Until someone proves to me that there is something better out there, this is the set up I am staying with.
Also, the easton FMJ's are the same basic design, except one has the graphite on the inside and one has the graphite on the outside.
Off the shelf, a/c/c/'s are in the 130.00 range per dozen, but I found three of my four dozen as bare shafts on EBAY and got them for 75-80 $$ a dozen. I just had to fletch them and put the inserts in after I got them. But ebay is much cheaper....
God Bless
