Thats what I was thinking when I saw that HOG! That record has stood for a looooong time. Kinda surprising really.
Maybe one of us will top it this year!!
Actually the Wayne Zaft (Edmonton Bow Zone) buck out scored Mel Johnson's buck. It got shot down because they (the scorers) said the G-3/G-4, I think it was, came from a common base. What a shame. An incredible buck non the less!
And thus the reason why P&Y and B&C net scoring systems suck. Its a shame that the Zaft buck went from the 200s to a 179"(?). The systems do most deer no justice.
You're exactly right Dan. Nets are for fishing, not scoring big bucks! Gross score is the way to give a buck the"RESPECT" it deserves!
