Talk about having a horshoe up your butt when your hunting!!!!
Here I go, God's honest truth on my dad's grave (RIP 1993).

First two 1994 Oct. weekends up @ camp I didn't see anything (we mostly bird hunted and sat for deer, maybe 2-3 hours/night).

Third weekend I had the horseshoe!
Got into my stand Sat. night and 1 hour later a little button buck came down the path like he was a remote controlled car.
He stops broadside in the magical 20 yard zone, right in front of me, and I let the arrow fly. "I hit a freaken branch" and the arrow went right over his back.
The little bugger ran towards me within 10 yards off to my left. Knock a second arrow and let it fly - Yatzee!

So I'm in my stand, while waiting for a 1/2 hour or so to go and look for the Deer, and 20 minutes later a 250+ pound Black Bear comes strolling in.
Never in my mind did I ever think this would happen, so I draw back and what do you think I hit, oh-yeah, another freakin branch (dumb idiot - I am). Now the Bear is almost motionless looking over his opposite shoulder, as to what was the noise and movement he witnessed was? I knock my LAST arrow of 4 arrows in my quiver
and proceed to tell myself to bend down beneath the branch, take a deep breath and let it out easy, steady, squeeze. Perfect shot as I watched my fletchings disappear behind his shoulder and him run up over the hill 80 yards away.

Moral of this story is I am a true beliver in #1) Archery Education, which is now mandatory in NH and #2) Trim your freakin lanes!

This actually has happened 2 more times too me since then, but do not want to continue boring you folks, as this is way too long of a read already!
