RE: Got a big un
I can finally take the time to tell the story. I got out real early to get near the roost where I have seen several gobblers strutting in the river-bottom, so I could get a real good setup spot. This is nearly impossible because I cannot find somewhere with good cover, that doesn' t have a fence. When I finally get set up I am not in the greatest spot but it is decent. So I call and call at 9 toms that are fanned out in the draw, but they have hens with them so they will not budge no matter what. After an hour of silence from me because they won' t come the hens leave and I start calling agian and 4 toms start slowly coming my way. They hung up for awhile but after 2 hours they are finally in range and I shoot the biggest of the three. He had the biggest beard but the otherr 3 had some long beards also. It wasn' t quite dragging the ground but It is by far the longest beard that I have seen. I will have pics near the end of the season when I go to the big city to get my film developed, we don' t have any where near that develops film.
