RE: Have you ever dropped a deer in it' s tracks?
The last two deer that I have taken with my bow have dropped in their tracks. The first was a white-tail that I made a heart shot on from 20 yards. He expired just as fast as any shot from a rifle. The second was a shot on a mule deer that hit him in the spine between the front shoulder and the head. That deer also expired instantly. Which was lucky because a spine shot usually requires the hunter to have to take a second shot. And it is usually not humane. I wasn' t proud of that shot though because it wasn' t where I was aiming. I think that hunters should strive for exellence in shot placement and making quick humane kills.
