RE: .240 Weatherby? .257wby? 6mm-284?
Well I don't reload and don't really ever plan to. So factory ammo is a must....and not factory/specialty ammo like from some custom ordering.....does anyone load the 6mm-284? or 6-06?
I know guys love the .257wby, both are superfast, the .240 and .257, the .257 just seems like way too much powder....like unneeded/unused.....I originally was thinking it would only be a varmint/antelope setup, but now thinking shot placement is everything and with 100gr noslers or some other premium load that it'll probably be enough on anything up to the size of caribou....though then again do I have to think about bears when caribou? etc... so perhaps it would be left to the realm of just antelope and mule deer. I had originally just thought of a .243win...for this purpose, coyotes, antelope and maybe mule deer.
Though living in the real world....the .257wby is way more popular and ammo actually is fairly common to locate vs the .240, also spending 50-70/box for .240 ammo vs say $15 for .243, considering just the .243 and boring it out down the road if I really wanted to?
