Wow- some of you fellas have some pretty nice places. I'd love to have a place on the water like that.
Dan - how many buildings do you have up there?
Ben - our camp used to look a lot like yours - until we lucked out and got a siding job one summer on a huge garage. The guy told us that we could keep all of the old stuff, if we could salvage it.
Before that, it was a mishmash of rough-cut lumber, tarpaper, celotex, and scrap plywood. We had sheet metal covering the bottom 1/3 to keep the porcupines from eating a hole in it. The area where we're at is loaded with porcupines.
Very little remains of the original building - as we've basically torn it down and re-built it. I remember one year, we pulled in for the big buck season trip, only to find that Camp Gunsmoke slid down the hill off of its blocks. So, we had to use the car jacks to prop it back up. LMAO I think that was the sign that it was time for a major remodeling job. It's pretty solid now, but due for a new roof.
