RE: Wisconsin Deer Season 08-09
I cant flipping wait for the deer season. The bad part is that I am active duty Air Force stationed in Georgia (Im from Racine County, WI) and I only get a little time to hunt. I take 23 days of vacation every year to come bowhunt some of the rut the weekend before the gun opener, then I rifle hunt the whole nine days. I hunt unit 55 on public land in Black River Falls and it treats me right. Last year I shot a nice 11 pointer that scores around 140" and saw one deer that will score in the mid 150's to 160" and Im am pretty sure he is still alive. During the rifle season I saw 5 deer that will score at least 130" so needless to say, I cant wait to try out my new Mathews DXT at one of those big @ss Wisconsin whitetails. I shoot deer down here in Georgia but as you guys could imagine, its just not the same. Hopefully they dont send me to Iraq for a 4th time, that way I cant hunt in the best state in the nation.
