I think they make a good sight, I just don't think they make a sight that has the most features for the money. They are bright, but for $10-$15 you can add top of the line plastic protected/extended aftermarket fibers that are better quality and as bright or brighterto any sight out there. Their micro tune feature is OK I guess, but it's not individual micro tune pins, just a gang adjustment and that just doesn't seem like it's worth the $$$ that it costs compared to it's competition. I only make a gang adjustment on a bow maybe once a year, and when you have laser etched marks ona sight with no micro tune, or comparably priced sightsthat have micro tune individual pins..........it just doesn't make sense.
I will say the fit/finish and dipping on the Viper's is great though, they do a great job there.
I have a new hunting bow on the way (will post a review when it's here finally [8D]) and when it gets here I will likely be adding a wrapped Spot Hogg Hunter Hogg-It with a green .029 on top, and yellow/green .019's from there down.
Matt, the Spott Hogg your refering too, it's has no more or less adjustments than the Viper MT does it? I mean I don't recall seeing any micro adjust for individual pins on them and they are far more expenisive than the Viper line.
I guess that's why, like bows there are indivual taste because I looked at the Spott Hogg line which would have been my choice until I found the Viper line, $ for $ I feel the Viper is superior, I see where you and Scott differ. I don't care for the angle of the pins on the Hoggs. I know GMMAT's Spott Hogg wasn't nearly as bright as my Viper thusly why he sold the Spott Hogg and bought a Viper MT.
Anyway, The Spott Hogg equiv is well over $200 isn't it? The Top Viper MT is around $149.00 straight from Viper. I don't see where that doesn't make sense. ?
