Cougars are normally a reclusive cat for the most part, but people are killed nearly every year by cougar attacks, primarily in the Western US. They are dfinitely an animal to be respected and treated with the uptmost caution.
the cougar i saw in clinton county,pa.,did growl at me at 15 ft away but did not attack .
i was real close but he ran away .
was i scared, no.
..............I probably would have run away too...............
