Default RE: spot and stalk bear

Glass the Green spots on mountain sides. Watch the timber line, lots of times they are on the edges where they can slip into cover quickly. Take your time, most people look over a spot and quickly move on, I suggest spending up to 1/2 hour or more if the spot looks good. When it gets hot they are out more in early morning and evening, but if the weather is cool or overcast they can be found all day, especially if they just rolled out of their dens and are hungry. Try throwing in a little predator calling to up your odds and for a little more excitement. Baiting and dogs are the best route, but spot and stalk has its own challenges and benefits. Some of the biggest bears I've seen taken were spot and stalk, most big bears become nocturnal on baits, and won't tree for dogs, or learn how to loose all but the best hounds. Luck, Time, and Skill,to Kill.
