For me color selection is dependant on a few factors

1. Water Clarity

2. Sunny Skies vs. Overcast

3. Forage base in that particular body of water I am fishing.

4. If eveyone on the lake is throwing white, I will throw something different.

5. If my partner is smashing the bass on a color different than mine, I am switching.
