I remember the first time i went deer hunting and i was only 5 years old! My dad let me miss a day on kindergarten
to go deer hunting with him. We set up in a stand we call the "old man stand" because it is only 400 yards from the cabin. I remember hearing footsteps coming through the leaves but i couldnt see a deer anywhere. My dad kept telling me to look and finally i saw the thing, a little fork horn, which was only about 15 yards from the stand. He came in a little closer and bedded down right under the stand. I remember asking my dad if I could shoot it with my BB gun and he started laughing loud enough for the deer to jump up and walk off. That day was the day that started my passion for hunting, and a day i hope my dad or myself never forgets.
