No we aren't. And my mom was very cool. She let me do whatever I wanted as long as it wouldn't hurt me. She never grounded me or stopped me from seeing my friends. If I got out of line, I got a whipping or a scolding and that was the end of it.

When I got involved with my husband, we talked about it and she met him and they talked and everything was cool. I still had to abide by my curfew though until we told her we were getting married.

I'm going to be the same way with my kids.
