poundage sounds like a possibility.....they're 2" wide which is quite broad to be pushing through an animal.

I wonder if the tip may have hit a rib and stopped....on the deer, on the hog maybe a rib, or what about just tougher skin?

Did you use 3 blade rages or 2 blade? I assume you heard of the recalls on the 3 blades ?
