I've used all the 'known' baits and in my experience, Shad(frozen or fresh) works the best.

It is a good idea to take several types of baits if possible.

I've also used whitetail deer heart for bait with amazing results, But who really thinks aboutkeeping a heart in Dec., to use in June?
