And I'm not talking just criminals either. Are you telling me you have never met anyone that wasn't a criminal but you just didn't think had the common sense or training to own a firearm? Or someone that is mentally unstable or has a violent background (domestic violence) or has a 4 or 5 DUI's? I have met quite a few unfortunately. Obviously someone that really wants a gun and intends on doing harm with it will get one. It's the in between people that scare the crap out of me. It kind of bothers me a little that my drunken wife beating neighbor can drive half a mile down the road and walk out of a store with a 12 ga and a box of ammo in a matter of minutes.
My first question to anyone that opposes a background is "What do you have to hide?". If you haven't done anything wrong it shouldn't bother you.
Then again I have met a lot of people that shouldn't be behind the wheel of a vehicle as well.
