Ill admit it....my views on trophy management may be in the back of my head..However, one of the old guys smacked a 160class buck just over our northern mostposted line about 4 years ago and another took a 170 class buck just over our south west mostposted line about 7 years ago..Well before we were there...
Only until recently (last few years), was I aware of the potential NJ has of producing BIG bucks. Years ago, this wasn't the case, was it? Anyway, I've heard the Princeton area is a "killer area" for big bucks, is this right? I've also heard that you have a snowball's chance in hell of getting permission to hunt any of the land in this area?[:@]
At any rate, it sounds like New Jerseyis one ofthe new "sleeper states" for a B&Cbuck. I recall the description of that buck you saw that late evening, and never saw again (poachers)! I would never have thought to hunt NJ back in the day. It's right across the river!
