Default RE: What does your average, adult whitetail wiegh in your area ?

I think you have to look at multiple things when discussing this topic. I hunt a lot in Kane County Illinois and most of the county is Bow only. We have a lot of Forrest Preserves, and light hunting pressure. We have heavy doe ratios and excellent food sources for deer. I sometimes get confused with the term "Cornfed Deer". Deer are not one tracked eaters and will often eat numerous different food sources in a short period of time.

I know the weight I posted might seem high but that was what we were told by the processor. Many areas of the country see a majority of the bucks killed at younger ages and bucks do in fact fill out and gain significant weight as they mature past 4.5 years of age. If you have an area with great food sources, light pressure, high doe ratios and older deer I believe you will see heavier bucks and does. I know I have seen a few monsters around my area over the years.
