I don' t know why, but I' ve had three different set of two come in when I use doe in heat attractant scent. They usually come trotting up until the wind where I' ve walked or just wind me, and then they turn and bolt. (they have way better noses than deer)
The one I shot was with a group of three that came up while I was hunting in a thunderstorm (like an idiot). It was steady pouring (I had one of those treestand umbrellas-worked good!!) rain and they came in like they new no-one in their right mind would ever be in the woods during a rainstorm (they were right- I wasn' t- the rut was on

). I guess they feel they can let their guard down in the rain. Same goes for the group of pigs that preceeded them.
