To quote one writter "the 308 Win is the best White Tail cartridge" I would also sayin general its the best first gunthat any huntercould start with, and to build a hunting rifle collection from. Like 308win, 270win, 338-06 etc... A short 20" barreled bolt for al most any thing from 0-300 yards. Than a good flat deer/caribou/antalope gun, and then a good elk/moose gun. Throw in a short lever gun in 30-30/35rem and may be a 277/284/308MAG and Wa La.
