Dreaming about the season….being a little slow at work thru this winter, I’ve got things so detailed & envisioned it’s scary.
Well first off, my initial dream didn’t pan out when I missed a nice longbeard with my longbow a few weeks back. However, if I were to pop a couple birds with the 870 before time expires I’ll be happy.
If I may, I’ll toss in some fishing dreams to have decent success fly fishing for trout, and landing a few 20” smallmouths would certainly make my summer.
On to the fall…..and arrowing a herd bull in Idaho in September with my longbow. Preferably early in the trip so I can enjoy as many other activities as I can. Whether it’s fishing, hunting other critters, or jumping behind the camera to film an Idaho slammer whitetail fall to one of HNI’s resident big buck killer’s arrow.
Retuning east to fill 5 doe tags with my bow, a 150” PA buck & heck lets make it another 150” buck from Ohio. Kill all my PA deer with my longbow, and the Ohio buck with my Ally. Then lastly fill one remaining doe tag with my 44 mag during our gun season. While I am at it, drill a fall bird with my bow during the overlapped season.
At any time during any days afield a chance to take out a coyote is always welcomed.
Then finally to have my Dad commit enough effort for one season so that I can set him up with a chance at a nice 100”+ buck with his bow.
Realistically I will probably not get anywhere close to this scenerio. Getting a bull elk regardless of size would make my season 10x over. So we'll just hope for that.
AndmyDad will get excited about the upcoming season but probably only hunt 2-3 times as long as the weather isn’t too hot, too cold, too windy, has rain of any level, too sunny, too cloudy or he’s in the mood to go fishing instead.
