The 308 is not at all dead. There are so many out there the problem is all these young bucks who don't know anything but think they are God's gift to the hunting world. They think that their dad's 30-30 and 308 can't kill anything anymore but they forget that their dad always had meat on the table. I guess they think PETA is handing out kevlar vest to deer now or something.

The 308 is accurate out to 800+ yards and can drop a deer in any realistic hunting situation.
