wiaxle-you could also try filling a garbage can about 1/3 full of water, (maybe a little more) pour enough birdseed on top of the water that it looks solid, and then put a 2x4 ramp up to the top edge of the garbage can. just make sure the water is deeper than they can 'stand' in, but not high enough that they can claw their way out......works for chipmunks and squirrels on smaller scales also......



i know guys in northern MN that use 50 gallon drums fill it like half ways with H2o put leaves on top and a pie tin of food on top. they git some but some are pretty wise.
