Default RE: 260 rem or 7mm-08 rem ?

I thought I might stir the pot a bit.

You know Ridge- by the way how are your doing?- the original short magnums were developed by Remington and brought out as a .350 and 6.5 Rem Mag. This is a short fat case as you know, that works through short actions not unlike the 7mm-08. With a 24 inch barrel the 6.5 can be loaded up with 120 gr bullets at about 3200 fps. 129 gr with IMR 4350 for 3000 fps and the 140 gr with H 4831 for 2900 fps.

Now I know this is a belted case, but headspace it on the shoulder and it is just fine. My gunsmith really likes the belted cases properly headspaced.

Remington is now again loading ammo for this round. It is seeing a resurgence.

Short action with long action performance.

Then I guess we bring up the idea of the new short magnums.

Decisions, Decisions.
