RE: Fish Finder Question
Wow that takes me back. Back when I had a downrigger lake boat they were selling them. They competed with Humminbird and Lowrance and they were all paper graphs. From what I remember the write up on them made them look pretty good but I never saw one locally on a boat so I didn't get one. I do remember seeing them at the sport shops though. Forget about getting it to run because the paper was expensive and dirty since it was agraphite impregnated roll. Quite often you had to replace the stylist which was hooked to a rubber belt and spun over the paperand passed the electric current through the paper creating marks. The resolution was pretty good with those paper graphs. I looked at a lot of them and ended up with a Humminbird which was in a large black plastic case with a amber tinted screen. It was junk and after I went through 2 of them I got a Lowrance X15 which was state of the art for that time period which was early to mid 80's. It was a 12 volt system though and you should be able to match the power couplers with something from today. Good luck with a transducer though. The only way you will get some parts for it is if someone has one stuffed in the attic or cellar and is a pack rat. I doubt that many are still in use.
