Default IBO Arrow Parameters

Arrows of any type may be used provided they fall within the accepted principle and meaning of the word arrow as generally understood in archery; adhere to any class-specific equipment limitations; have not been altered from the manufacturer’s original specifications (except cut to length); and that these arrows do not cause undue damage to the targets.

An arrow consists of a shaft with a field or glue-in point, nock, fletching and, if desired, cresting. The maximum diameter of arrow shafts will not exceed .422 (27/64) inch; the field or glue-in point for these arrows may have a maximum diameter of .425 inch.

Under these arrow parameters, the IBO will spend a minimum of one shooting season compiling data and arrow impact information from the National and World events. In addition, the IBO will conduct controlled-condition testing to obtain more specific data to help determine any future arrow limitations.
