Default RE: tree stand theft

SJHunter I spoke to a woman in the Northern District Office and she told me that leaving a stand in the tree for any length of time was against wma rules stateing that technicaly you are harming the vegetation ( the freedom of the tree from growing) and also by leaving the stand up it is not a portable any more but a permanent stand. I' m only going by what what was told to me by the Division. Sorry for any confusion and now I don' t know who to believe. Fortunately I use a climber. Also if you use any screw in steps to get to your stand that also is against the regs. Nocutting or damaging vegetation. I imagine that also goes for cutting shooting lanes. The laws are pretty clear regarding harming trees.
