Both are pumps. I had the slug barrel for my 835, I sold it. It was accurate, but with any 3.5" chamber shotgun if you use slugs make sure to use 3" or 3.5" shells not 2-3/4"

Both the 835 and 870 are made with the tactical type stock, or you can purchase these stocks or either the thumbhole or pistol grips as a aftermarket item. Your line of sight will be different somewhat using any of these stocks versus the standard stock, and some like them and some don't
