I really don't recall Ted acting like a "barbarian". He's a bit over-the-top with excitement/joy or whatever, at times, and he's certainly outspoken and colorful. But, I'd rather watch Ted being excited and rejoicing in the harvest of meat for his family than watching Stan Potts who, after the kill looks like he was viciously angry at his prey...
