I believe in playing the wind, wearing rubber boots and using a quick spray of scent blocker. You can have the greatest Scent controlling suit in the world but if you have a backpack with you, step in dog crap or gas filing up the rig then you are busted. I'm sure the clothing can't hurt but it is expensive and there is no way it blocks out everything, my Dad's Bloodhound can find you no matter what you try or wear.
EVERYTHING I wear goes into my scent bag, including my backpack and boots. I don't fill up with gas before I go especially not wearing my hunting garb. I rarely get winded.
Good thing we aren't hunting your dad's bloodhound huh?
Yeah, Ma loves to let Klem out when Dad has been out back hunting too long. Nothing ruins a day of hunting like Klem howlin below your tree, haha.
I used to take all the precautions you mentioned above until the "Mojito Bandito" started hunting my favorite property. One morning he had workboots covered in Driveway sealer on, it was then that I figured playing the wind and getting up around 25' was the best option. I still spray my clothing and wash it after each hunt but no longer spend a lot on scent blocking clothes.
