I'm not sure how it relates, but Hodgdon' web site shows that using the same brand powder (H4350) and the same bullet (180gr) these three cartridges develop the following:

powder charge FPS Pressure

300 WSM 64gr 2950 63,900

300 Win Mag 67gr291853,100

300 Wby Mag 72gr 2974 54,600

There must be something about the case designs that causes such significant differences in burn rate to have this much effect on pressure.Muzzle Energy should be close to the same given equal bullet weight and close to equal MV. So is the difference in recoil related to time ofacceleration?
