Default RE: when shooting?

I used to shoot left open for pistols, right open for long distance rifle comps. But i trained my self as well as other Law enforcement officers to shoot both eyes open. after I was used to both eyes open, I noticed my points on paper and shot groups got higher and tighter. I also have sniper friends, at shorter distances 100- 300 yards roughly, they use both eyes open. But when it came to long distance, over 300 yards their strong eye would take over as you try to squint or "TUNNEL" to see your Target. I hoped I helped your thread. For cops and military, it helps to have both eyes open to see your target better, Plus if you "TUNNEL", there might be a Bad Guy coming off the side that you wouldn't see if you only had one eye open. For hunting, you might "TUNNEL" on a Buck, if you had both eyes open you might see the Bigger buck coming in on his back Sides.
