to answer your question a lot more accuratley recoils is made up of a lot of components. the biggest thing being the stock configuration. a short drop of comb isnt gonna recoil not nearly as bad as a rifle w/ a deep drop. make sense? a l.o.p. that fits you really snug is going to take a lot of felt recoill away and a decent pad is gonna help w/ al those veriables out of the way a 300 win. short mag is about equiv. to the 30-06 w/ a moderate load (180 gr) or if you kept all things equal 22ft pounds of recoil. the way i look at it is if your gonna have a 300 wsm you might as well have an 06 and if you want more then the 06 and thinkin about a 300 go big balls and get a 350. my little sister can shoot my model 7 350 all day and shes only 5'4" 120lbs its all in the way the gun fits
