As for the 7mm one of my friends who is a sniper claims that it is a great high power caliber. I do not know how easy it would be to find ammo if you left it at home or lost it while travelling.
Here if you find 3006 ammo you will also find 7mm rem mag ammo.The most popular magnum in NA.
