Washed out!!!!
I put my seed down two weekends ago. Half acre of Clover/chickory/alfalfa, and another 1/4 acre of alfalfa. The next day it rained about 2 1/2 days and soaked my seeds well...without washing them away.
Last week while hunting turkey and scouting the clover just began to sprout, looked like my hard work paid off!!!! Then the ground dried up and cracked as the week ended.
It has now been raining since Saturday afternoon, flash flood warnings, creeks overflowing, etc. Some kind of stationary moisture system coming in off the ocean. I went into the area between downpours today and checked my cameras and the seed. The clover was about 1 inch tall and under about 2 inches of water and mud. I am hoping that when the sunshines tomorrow they will bust out of the water and reaching for the sky...but its supposed to rain throughout tonight and into tomorrow. Im praying that the rain has helped, rather than washing away my dreams of a successful food plot!
Anyone else experiencing all of this rain?
