Ok fellas heres what happened this morning. I got set up on a wheat field in a blind at 530am, decoys out. I just set and waited for shooting light. I already had a gobbler gobbling 100 yards away. Well as light progressed there were more and more gobbles. 13 different gobblers in all. As its getting lighter I noticed the trees not 70 yards away are full of hens. Then I see the gobbler. Well the hens flydown to another adjoining field away from me, then the gobbler follows. Well Im bummin now. But I didnt give up. I gave some loud yelps from my Cody and some purrs and cluck. Then I hear it, sweet music to me ears the spit and drum. Here he comes. I purr he gobbles. Hes now 60 yards away and coming. He sees the decoys keeps coming now at 50. I purr and cluck, and a gobble came from directly in front of me. I look there are 2 more gobblers in the field. Then they all eyeball each other. The first gobbler is 30 yards away now and I can shoot he's to far to my right. The other 2 gobblers decide they dont like it and give me the old dreaded wing flip. They start heading off. I turn to watch the first gobbler. Hes wanting to move away. I slide out of my chair, get on my knees, put the gun threw the window. I then lowered the boom on him at 30 yards.20lbs 9 1/2 in beard and 7/8in spurs.
