RE: Please becarful
agreed, this is all about knowing what you're doing! sorry but shooting a dog, a person, a house, a car, isn't acceptable.
agreed, 9yo shouldn't be hunting alone, with a gun? away from his dad?
a rule I seem to recall, maybe others do not....."don't shoot at something unless you're certain of what it is, and what's behind it or in the way"
just plain ridiculous!
Maybe people who have "accidents" should have their rights restricted.....
Accidents do occurr, but we need to limit them, or at least try to, and educate people on how to, I remeber not shooting a pheasant more than once, because of how low he was flying, and either a dog or person was in the way, also swinga gun to follow a bird.....people need to develop their eyesight....ie know whats around them and aware of these things, like hey if this bird gets up and flies left, Bob's over there, so be careful
however I worry this will fall on deaf ears and these people who cause "accidents" will continue to exist, I worry about one of them around me.....I sure hope I never cause one, but as much as I worry about me, I worry about the guy near me, or off in the distance....
Quick story, 2 years ago antelope hunting, rifle, 2 guys went over a ridge, both were hunters hunting antelope like us, however no blaze orange, then antelope appear between us and the other hunters, on a ridge......passed up the shot, and in this scenario I feel those guys could have been shot accidentaly but their own fault, reason we have blaze orange I feel is for that long range shot when you can't see a guy in camo behind the game you plan to shoot,
