Vabow: Having shot a few of the bowtechs now, I don't think they'll ever build another hunting bow that trumps the Allegiance. It's a damn fine hunting bow. Good size, speed, draw cycle, bh, etc...
I'd have bought one in a second, but I thought they were (and still are) unfairlyoverpriced.
However, if you're looking to save some cash - look into the HCA Iron Mace, which is essentially a clone of the Allegiance, with (in my opinion) better strings and much better limbs. Speed and draw cycle are almost a perfect match. High Country had a deal going (and I think they still do) called the "Average Joe Shooter Program" where they were selling new bows (MSRP $700) for $530. Over $500 is still a lot of bling to drop on a bow, but compared to the nearest competition, it's a steal. That's where I got mine, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
If you're interested, shoot me a pm and I'll give you allthe contact info or anything you need. I think the Joe program is still around.
Fantastic craftsmanship on the bow too.
