here is a link here- while I don't trim the bone or meat away - I have many fans on the wall with no stink - no bugs and all I did was cure with salt for about 5 -6 months. I do spray with a house hold insecticide before it goes up. Have several I have used 4 or 5 yrs now out in th field.
