I was also hoping to get my first turkey with a bow, but I just recently stuck a new sight on my bow for a 3D shoot, and didn't have it sighted in yet, and I got the turkey bug. I went out and ended up killing a turkey that night with my shotgun. It was my first turkey ever. Do I still wish Iwould have gotten it with the bow??? Yes, but it was just as much a thrill to get it with a shotgun. I still have another tag. I'll get the next one with the bow.

Go ahead and take the shotgun if you choose to. There is not much remorse in using it......
