In WI there was a cougar down by Madisoncausingtrouble, then there was one in upper WI that a guy took a pic of a cougar laying on the padio table outside watching the little kids play in the living room. There is a big rumor going around that the DNR released the cats to control part of the deer population and I wouldn't doubt it. Northen Chicago is only three hours away from Madison I wonder if that could be the same cat. If so I would hate running into one hunting. I think Im going to start carrying my sidearm bowhunting.
The window pic was from out west and was suposedly a tame cat, not WI. The DNR does not release cats cuz if they did they would haveprotection on them due to law suit issues if someone was to be attacked.Thecatin southern WI is real atleast it use to be who knows now. There was blood taken from one of the tracks, after it was found in that barn, from a cracked paw of the cat and was sent to a Montana lab to test for DNA cuz legal pet mt lions come from south america and wild ones in WI decend from the black hills cats. Havent heard if they got results yet or not, may not get results with freezing issues and DNA they figured. Some kids here at UWSP with the wildlife society are studyin it and tryin to prove the WI cats but the guy in the brn beat em to it. Anyway now they are workin with the DNR on it down there.... Get this, they tracked the cat out of the barn that day the DNR and the trapper who spotted it and while tracing it they made a big loop and crossed back over their tracks, Now that is scary!! They were that close to that cat and it knew they were behind it. WCL
