It depends on why you are planting. Are you planting to improve deer quality for this year, or are you trying to build a herd? If you are planting for this year, clover is easy to plant and the deer will tear it up. My old man planted a bunch last year and the herd never let it grow taller than an 3 inches and the tracks were outrageous. If you're building a herd and have limited space, plant some clover for the summer to fall months for food and have some corn to leave standing through the winter to prevent undo hardship just in case.
