I' ve never personally used 55gr bullets, but I have shot 125, 150, 165, 180, & 220gr bullets all with fine accuracy.

I simply ment that it is possible to use 55gr bullets with an 06. I would imagine that with a while to tinker, some reloading charts, and plenty of shell casings and powder, it would be possible to find an accurate load at 55 grains.
