Have a gunsmith install a grind to fit pad. If they know what they are doing it will look a thousand times better than the pre fit models.
+2 I tried to get one to work for an older model 700 which is a safe queen really and was unsuccessful as well. I ended up getting a pachmayr grind to fit, looks good and fit is perfect (also works better then the same butt plate you refer too
